Friendship Bracelets for the Friendless

Title is a bit misleading, actually, because I'm not friendless.  I've got a few solid ones, ones I've known and likely will know for years, and I'm not the most social person, anyway.  But they're spread out.  We all have lives.  So while the friendships are real, I don't see them much.  That's how it is, and it's okay, it really is, but it does leave me in a sort of, well, friendless position.

That all being said, I really like making friendship bracelets.

I mean, who's the friend I'm making them for?  Myself?  I have matching friendship bracelets with two people, and one of them is my sister, and since she's my sister, I count that as separate from the friend category.  Ya know?

Doing things with the hands is good.  Picking out beads and colors and learning new knots and patterns is good.  I was kinda nuts last year, and I made a bunch of these bracelets while watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel so I could keep my mind preoccupied.  It always feels nice to make something, to add cute beads that spell out dumb words, to twist and make knots until you've got something to wear or hang off a purse.  I guess I don't even really want to give them away, at least not all that often.  I like to have these things I've made for myself.  This dumb little bracelet is mine.

So I guess I am the friend I'm making these friendship bracelets for.
